BOMBAL (Effective Antimicrobial Agent)

In September 2008 Health Canada permitted the use of sodium acetate and sodium diacetate as a preservative in cooked or cured meat and poultry products.

Bombal® is a special powdered blend of both sodium acetate and diacetate, manufactured in Germany, and now available in Canada through Malabar. Bombal® is easy to use, economical and very effective as an accepted antimicrobial to inhibit post processing contamination from Listeria monocytogenes.

Health Canada recently issued an Interim Marketing Authority allowing sodium diacetate and sodium acetate to be used in meat and poultry products.
